Give yourself a thumbs up!

The connection between how we see ourselves and the affect that that has on our relationships with others has been studied and researched by a number of people. In this latest study from America it is clear that if we are dissatisfied with how we feel about our bodies it has a direct impact on how we respond and interact with our loved ones and our friends.  The reason behind the negativity is insecurity and when we feel insecure we become defensive and are easily upset.

Survey finds that women who diet are less satisfied with themselves

This survey deals with women who are mature and are married or in a long term relationship. So can this study help younger people and if so, how?

All of our friendships and relationships depend on how we treat each other; gaining trust, supporting each other, listening, laughing and even crying together, but in order for us to be able to have healthy relationships with others we have to have a strong base. This comes from being happy with who you are and how you look - in other words being at peace with yourself and not war!

If we are constantly at war with ourselves we will become exhausted and be convinced that others think negatively about us too. This will damage and sometimes destroy our relationships as we become suspicious of the intentions of our friends and family. Who would have thought that you feeling good about you was so important to everyone!

If we are happy with the way we look and the way we are then we are strong and will be in a positive emotional position. Likewise if we have a negative body image we become emotionally weak and that means we will be little use to anyone.

Maybe it's about time you gave yourself a thumbs up?
